If you steal from a employeer, whats the punishment from a court?

if u work for them they could actually charge you with embezzelment....also they could charge you with petit larceny.....its just according to how strict they are and if they like u or not
you will have four strokes of the cane.
Criminal or civil? You can be prosecuted both ways (remember OJ).

Criminally, you can be ordered to pay full restitution plus costs. Probation is likely. Jail time is also a possibility if you break parole or fail to make the scheduled restitution payments.

You can be sued in civil court by the company you stole from. You could be ordered to pay full restitution plus interest and damages. If the employer files an employee dishonesty insurance claim, the insurance company =will= pursue you in civil court for restitution (the insurance company cannot take the matter to the police, as they are not the victim of a crime). If you fail to pay, they can file a lien against you and force you into bankruptcy.
Depends on what you stole

Answer:
It depends on many things. What was the state where you committed your crime? Is it your first offense? How much did you steal? Did you steal it all at once or over a period of time? Consecutive or concurrent sentences could come into play. Just a few of the deciding factors. If it was $5.00 probably probation. If it was $500,000.00 it could be many years.
Well this depends on what was stolen and other facts. Ultimately, when you steal, you may be charged with larceny or theft. As far as punishment, that all depends on your record and the applicable points under the sentencng guidelines
There's alot of 'if's, like how much or what was stolen!!
