if we have freedome then why do we need laws?
True, we are inherently free. The question is not do we need laws. The correct question would be do we need government. My answer is no. Crime violent or otherwise tends to happen BEFORE the government shows up to do anything about it. Government doesn't protect people, it only reinforces the heirarchy of power it represents. Our government represents the propertied class of people in our society. More property = more power.
to preserve freedom
Unfortunately, human being always forget when it's time to stop. Law is around to do that.
because people are the most horrible things on the earth. we can't trust anyone to not to do something horrible.
To maintain your freedom as well as our freedom. Consider if we don't have any law then the criminals will get freehand to kill anybody they like. rapist will not leave any women on this earth without raping. There will be jungle. Hence to keep you and others safe and with dignity laws are made.
We need laws to protect our freedom. We do not need any law which does not have that effect, such as the ridiculous drug laws. But if there were no laws at all, we would be at the mercy of people who have no mercy: the greedy would steal, the vicious would maim and kill, the slobs would vandalize, and you know what the sex maniacs would do. We need sensible, well-thought out laws, and we need to repeal a large body of laws which are counter-productive, including most if not all tax laws!
if there were no laws there would be no freedom. opposites must exist, with freedom there must be choices and choices bring consequences. think, WHAT ARE YOU FREE TO DO? if there were no laws then our choices would be fewer. we have the freedom to do whatever we want, but this freedom brings consequences, be them positive or negative. that is what laws are for, they establish consequences. you need them both.
freedom is not absolute... it should be limited by laws to protect the freedom of the rest of the citizens.

Simple answer:
With freedom comes responsibility.
How else do you control anti-social behavior from theft to mass murder?
Freedom always end, where it hurts the freedom of the others!
And there is nor freedom without responsibilty.
Because we have freedom, not anarchy. Your freedom extends until you reach the limit where you are damaging another persons freedoms.
because the government wants to control you
Because we do not have absolute freedom.
We really don't, the Constitution has been amended several times. We are a society of laws.
Because to have freedom you must live within a certain set of laws. To go outside the law's causes someones freedom to be abused. It is only by observing laws that keep us a free society.
freedom is a very very vast vague term. one may feel freedom under one type of system or condition whereas another may not feel freedom under that. therefore to make it reasonable & rational for maximum population of any country certain code of conduct are formulated to give a direction to the people to live within the conditions laid down are taken to be within the boundary and anything beyound will be punishabe or not acceptabe.thus limiting the freedom within four boundry walls is known as rationalising the freedom. and these rationalisation is known as law.
freedom doesn't mean freedom to kill each other or do other harm. When it harms another person, is where the laws are needed.
