My step mother has been arrested for drug trafficing in China. I am in the UK what can I do?

My step mother is South African and my father lives in Johanesburg. He is 25 years older than my step mother and is dying of cancer whilst trying to hold their 3 children and everything together. He is 70 and I need to know if there is anything I can do. I live in the UK and need to know if there are legal assistants or protocols or anything else that I can do regarding my step mothers case, contacting her etc. She was carrying 2 kg of heroine from India. She is 47 years old, educated Zulu but non chinese speaking. We have no idea what sort of conditions she will be being held in and are desperate to help. Apparently she will wait 2 years before trial.
the only thing you can do is to contact the embassy in China and ask them to provide assistance
i think you need to speak to the african embassy for advice.
She may or may not be doomed! But you can be sure that a lot of backhanders will be involved, best to speak to the Embassy.
well...i am surprised the Chinese let her speak to you or whoever told you what had happened...i would have thought her national diplomatic embassy would be told and they will do all the talking with the Chinese , can,t feel sorry for what she has done and can,t help you either ,i guess you have to help your father in some way

Answer:
Send her a card of a panda bear,
im not sure if we are able to give any advice for her case. it seems the charge and penalty is consider the worst crime she ever committed abroad. they are very strict and does not allow any drug trafficking in their country.

what is she thinking carrying that illegal drugs and how did she get it out of india? what is she doing with it? who ever put her into that kind of predicament, they should be the one worrying about her condition. is that her job, transporting drugs out of other country to another? if she is educated regardless of her background or race, she should think what is right and wrong. unless she have the documentation that she is allowed to carry that kind of drugs, that will be her defense.

the only thing you can do is to find a way to help your dad and his children. i think with that crime abroad, that is a no win situation. in asia, the punishment is usually heavy and no diplomacy can cover what she have done.
Kiss her butt goodbye
Contact the embassy and see what they can do.
If they find her guilty she will be executed
