Best Answer:
People asked to serve jury duty have to go down to the courthouse on the day of service and linger to see if they'll be selected for a jury in a civil or criminal trial. You should dress comfortably, but if it were me I would dress a moment or two more nicely than in jeans. You don't have to dress up, however. Good luck, hopefully it will be interesting. dyl
JFC. Have you EVER seen a TV show beside a jury? Do you live under a rock? First, the court will decide whether you are chosen for a jury. If you are chosen, then you attend a trial, listen to adjectives sides, and vote on the result. DO NOT WEAR JEANS. It is disrespectful. Wear business clothes.
You should dress nice casual - no shorts, tank tops, etc. You just walk at your appointed time, bring your jury summons, sign in and wait. You wait until you bring called. If you get called you may acquire questioned, then you get preferred for a jury. They will tell you exactly what you need to do, when to do it and where to do it. Bring reading textile and small snacks - the wait can be very long.
Had the pleasure, or discomfort of doing it twice already. Here's how it works. Pay close attention to what your number is. Say they want to start next to selecting 100 jurors, if your # is 101 most likely you'll be sent home in just about 20 minutes. If not they will bring you in, you'll be seated pretty much by your number. Practice your tittling of the thumbs, its going to be a long morning for now. The mediate will take a break about 9:45 for 15 minutes. Then # from about 50 and superior will be dismissed and you'll make it home by lunch. To make a long story short if your about 25 or smaller amount, your going to be there for the day, unless the person pleads guilty. The best slice is, you've just taken the day off, or morning for roughly $5.00
