Why is it a convicted child molester served no time?

but the guy who was in the same court room for cannabis possesion got 3 years? The Child molester wasn't there for his first time either, I believe it was his third. The smoker, it was his first offense.

That's how jacked up the criminal justice system can be at times. Reagen and Bush Sr. war on drugs was ignorant. A lot of small time/first time druggies were caught and convicted and now overcrowd our prison system leaving today's sickos to roam the streets again.
