Is it true that by 16 years of age, you're legally allowed to move out of your home?

I heard from school that when you're 16 years old, you can leave your parents' house and not get in trouble for it or it won't be considered running away. Is that true? If not, besides, emancipation, what can you do that is legal to get out of your parents' house?
You would be wise to talk to your school counselor (that you can trust) about this and ask them to keep it confidential. .

Remember one thing... the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Good Luck
Are they abuseing you if so talk to an adult that you trust .In some states yes it is true that you can do some things ..

Answer:
No. Emancipation is 18 years of age.

You can decide to stop going to school at age 16 (depending on where you live). You can also get married with parental consent at age 16.

If you are having trouble at home, then you should talk to a trusted adult. Maybe there is another family member you can live with for awhile.
Emancipation is the only way, especially if you are still in school.
