Ex-girlfriend kept my guitar, now what?


My Ex-girlfriend kept my guitar, and she won't give it back! I tried asking for it politely, and now she is ignore me. it is an expensive guitar and I don't want her to keep it! Is there anything I can do??

It's the intimidation factor... You can have the police escort you to her residence, knock on the door and inquire about the guitar. They cannot strong-arm her and there is any number of ways to deny mortal in possession of the instrument. However if your girl isn't so debased that she's immune to the ominous presence of the cats in blue and all that they stand for, consequently the intimidation of Johnny Law on her door should be enough for her to cough it up with an assuaging & Clueless-esque, "My bad!"
tell the police the story they will go with you to receive your guitar
get the police to threaten her to give it wager on. Otherwise you must take her to court and most likely wouldnt get a dime from a peacemaker. Judges only like to make money, not bequeath money to victims.

Jazz, Collect the original bill of sale (If can't find later go to where you purchased it as they keep annals of the serial number on that guitar); Ask her ONE MORE TIME IN AN REGISTER LETTER... NO RESPOND then have her charged with pinching. Report it stolen and tell police she stole it. DO NOT SAY SHE WON'T GIVE IT BACK JUST REPORT IT STOLEN... She has to prove you gave it to her afterwards. 2 ways to go about it and plain to see you have asked the nice route, so go to step 2... Report it stolen.
i would arrive at her house w/ the police. i'm betting that if you did that, she would cough up the guitar. if it get further than that, you could take her to small claims court.
