**LAYWERS HELP** help on emancipation!!!?
my friend is currently 17 and is in need of an emancipation.we have contact social services but they cant help us and i dont like her livin in her house.i want to know how 2 get her a emancipation witout her parents consent!!!

They have to go to the county hall, sign a release form. THey will be put in front of a judge. They need good reasons as to why they want to do it. They will need character references fo the home and a party wishing to take them in as a guardian. All people under age 18 require a legal guardian.
the prior answer is incorrect.. emancipation means legal adult, not someone having a guardian appointed on their behalf. Someone who petitions for emancipation has to show good cause, but ALSO that they can support themself.
The other option is to continue reports to child protective services, that she can be taken from the home. Sadly, MANY teens this age feel that they are being abused, when the issues are not abuse, but anger at parental control.
I am not telling you that this is your friends situation. Just playing devil's advocate. You have to show that she is in fact being harmed or endangered.
