his rights? he have the right to remain silent he has the right to an attorney. he has the right to ask for a public defender if he cannot afford an attorney. until he get arrested for something he has all the rights wants. Buying metal from those.. as long as it is theirs to sell is okay. If you've been buying stolen property, that is a problem. But if you've be doing nothing.. no worries.
If you haven't be doing anything illegal, you don't have a problem.

If you have, consequently you do have a problem. Call a lawyer.
He must answer any reasonable questions by the police but he have the right to have an attorney present.

He does not have to allow them to search the premises unless they enjoy a warrant.
WELL IF YOUR NOT DOING ANYTHING DONT BE SCARED...ND IF THEY ARE TRYING TO SEARCH YOUR HOUSE...ASK IF THEY HAVE A LEGAL WARRANT FROM A JUDGE OR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THEY DONT HAVE ONE THEY CANT SEARCH YOUR HOUSE..ND THEY CANT SEARCH YOU EITHER!!! The big crime wave of late have been selling building supplies as scrap, especially metal. Chances are you have inadvertently bought some that be stolen from a construction site.

You have nothing to fear if you are completely legit. They probably want his give support to in identifying the thieves
If he's done nothing wrong, he have nothing to worry about... it would be something going on close to your house or something that they need information on. Fourth Amendment... Don't open the door, don't let them surrounded by, unless they have a warrant.
Be friendly but firm. Don't let them in lacking a warrant. They will try to trick you into letting them in by making you feel like if you say-so no, then you must have something to hide.

Whether you do or not, ask them politely to come posterior with a warrant and you'll be happy to let them surrounded by.

The key is always be firm, but polite. Don't get worried or let them manipulate you into acting out. Say, "yes sir" and, "no sir".

And call a legal representative now.
Call a criminal defense attorney now.
