Why no proper punishment for the dishonest people in our country?
Don't pay house tax, get rebate/ discount from your municipality?
Don't pay Income Tax and get voulantry disclosure?
Don't pay Road Tax and run your vehicle without hassiles?
Pay road tax for private vehicle and run it as a taxi with a red stripe on the number plate.
Don't pay electricity bill, just take a hooking from the pole direclty.
Why buildings demolished after they are completed? Why not when they get started illegally?
Why no punishment to the officer under who area the illegal construction took place?
Why don't they punish the building owner who has counstructed a Mall/shop without enough space for parking?
Why the government has no courage to seize the unknown properties/black money/wealth beyond the sources and deposit it to the government treasury?
Why permission needed to prosecute politicians,government officers & buerocrats?
Why are the politicians and their company not frisked at the airports. Are they superior to this country?

There is no way to prove dishonesty. Punishment can be given by a court of law.
In India honesty is expected only from common man.
Ruling people,either elected or selected by the elected( I mean bureaucrats ) are separate clan. People should do what they say but not what they do.
Code of conduct, ethics and such things they will teach and preach to others but will not follow.This will continue till we believe every happening is due to fate and 'past Karma'.

Answer:
The truth is that, 'WE ARE NOT GOOD CITIZENS'. We want everyone else to be correct but not ourselves. Some simple cases to justify my answer,
1) we dont vote - never 95 or 100%
2) we dont keep public places clean.
3) we dont treat public property as our property.
4) we dont respect the law (road laws in particular).
5) we dont pay taxes honestly (income tax as well as sales tax)
6) and the most important of all (WE DONT CARE for the community or to correct ourselves)
the list is really really long. First ask urself one simple question. U have a driving license-- right?
Now tell me can u say u did not pay even a rupee as bribe to get that license? There are many questions similar to this that u could ask urself.
HEnce the answer is simple--- WE ARE NOT GOOD CITIZENS. Hope ppl like u n me can change this in future.
the legal system in india is lengthy and expensive so the dishonest people r scot-free. another thing is that they bribe or threaten the witnesses who have come 2 testify against them.
politicians r never frisked at the airport. why? coz they r above the law. money n power speak 4 itself, baby.
