Who knows about the law?

Ok here is something I just don't understand: if prostitution is illegal in basically every place except Nevada I think ( I'm not really sure about this) then how can states allow escort services to operate? I mean I'm sure every single girl that's an escort doesn't sell herself but from what I've heard a lot of them do.
SUPER ILLEGAL
Yeah...it's illegal. You basically pay an escort for her time, not for sex...sort of a loophole, but still illegal and they get busted all the time.
Law presume that every adult (major) citizen knows the law unless he is a lunatic or mad. Ignorance of law is no excuse.
Because it isn't technically solicity prostitution. Unless you can prove that sex was traded for money, then their is no crime. Unless you can prove that a crime is taking place, then escorting is not illegal. Sure most escorts have sex with their clients, but not all of them.

Answer:
Nevada's prostitution laws are different in each county....it depends on how big the population is. In the counties it is legal, it's only legal to own a brothel....not walk around on the street. If you are prostituting and not associated with a brothel, it's only a misdemeanor. As far as 'escort service' is legal b/c technically, you pay for time, not sex. However, it is almost impossible to enforce prostitution laws for 'escorts' for obvious reasons. Hope this helps!
The same way 'massage parlors' operate. They are offering what seems to be a legit service on the surface, however what goes on behind closed doors is not the same. Prostitution is illegal (although for the life of me I cannot figure out why. It's the world's oldest proffession.) but escort service is treated the same as a dating service. Hope that helps.
Because the pay the cops
