The County owns how much of the first few feet of your property?
I thought the county owned the first 6 ft or 10 ft..but I couldn't remember. I live in Florida if that makes any difference. Thanks! Well then why can the county verbs up the first few feet of your property to put water lines in??
Best Answer:
I believe it is from the finishing of your driveway to the center of the street is their easement to do what is necessary, be it road repair, or water lines repair. Providing you did not cause the prerequisite repair. If so the cost will be yours. Or half the cost since the county makes use of the easement. It should be shared.. You don't have to telephone a lawyer. Just call the pva office at the courthouse. They can bring up to date you.
The county does not own your property. You may not know how much of it you own, but what you own and what the county owns are different.
The county doesn't own it. They hold an easement that allows sidewalks and drainage and such, but the property remains yours.
The county doesn't own any part of your land. But it may be possible that in attendance are easement laws in your area allowing them to run sea lines to your neighbors. It's really best if you contact a lawyer, because this is a complicated issue that shouldn't be left up to a bunch of anonymous people who aren't human being paid (and can't be held responsible) for giving bad advice.
there is a setback on which you cannot build but it's still your property.
