Should Cheney be allowed to shred historical documents?
Dick Cheney wants to destroy documents related to his tenure as Vice President. The courts say no. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/presidentbush/2008/09/busted-dick-che.html What do you believe?
Best Answer:
Whose documents are these ? If they belong to Dick Cheney, they are his possessions and he can do with them whatever he like. Which courts are saying he cannot destroy them ? The LA Times ? The most liberal paper surrounded by America? If they, the New York Times, The Washington Post and the Boston Globe ran this country we would be a third world nation about to go into the sewer. I am satisfied to see the circulation falling for all these rags. The sooner they get to unprofitable operation, the better.
I think it's too behind time now. Those documents are nothing more than dust.
What america needs now more than ever is a little accountability and transparency within government. Remember your government works for you, they are your staff. I find it sad that we cannot expect our elected official to answer to those of us who put them in office.
No he should not be able to shred any documents. I think they can still be kept furtive for 50 yrs and some have to be.
No, and I hope he goes straight to intern if he does or has it done on his behalf.
