mortgage company broke contract agreement?

i am a first time home buyer. i signed a contract with the mortgage company and am already 6 months into my payment.and they have my escrow. yesterday a man come to my door to announced that he now owns my house because the city sold it to him because the owner owe back land taxes. can i sue the mortgage company for breach of contract. don't they enjoy to have all papers on the house and property to make sure the house taxes are remunerated.

Speak to a legal representative.
All the mortgage company did was loan you money and you agreed to wage it back. If what you say is true, contact your title insurance company. One buys title insurance for just such events.
Sorry, this is not plausible. IF you bought the house the tax bills would not only go to you but your mortgage company as okay. A home does not get sold because of back taxes just approaching that. All that is required is you pay the back taxes or hold your mortgage company pay them and you then get support the tax deed.
When you bought the home, there should have been a check for any liens or taxes owed. This is call a Title Search. Call your mortgage company and inquire as to if this situation is really true.
