Are we considered Yahoo customers even when this site is free?
The purpose of the question is because I visited the suggestion board recently and posted a similar request for information after I read the comments of some regulars who are saying in summary that because this is a free website we need to be grateful and if we don't close to it then leave the site. Because I consider that inappropriate and a need of respect for the people around the world who are using this service I told them that even when we don't pay, Yahoo needs us because companies payment Yahoo in a way or the other to advertise their products here to us. What is your opinion about this, are we consider customers or not? do we deserve the respect and receive good service even when we use this for free? Then why we have Yahoo customer contemplation services and for who? For business only? http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?prop=answers&fid=142574
Best Answer:
We are patrons, users - with out users a company is nothing they could charge but I don't meditate anyone would use it.
We are a statistic that boosts their bottom line -- the more traffic in an arena where they'd prefer to stay (movie theaters, freeways, at corners w/ stop signs/lights, watching TV), the more feasible an advertiser can strike an interest and gain a new client.
You are right and so are they. As with all medium ( News papers, TV, etc. ) YaHoo depends on advertising revenue to exist. That does not mean YaHoo does not want or need us. They stub their advertising rates on use ( Number of visits ) In order to protract visitors ( customers ) Ya Hoo wants & needs honest constructive criticism & will respond to it. We equally certainly should be appreciative of the provider & the advertisers who make the sites & services we use available.
Yes, i think we would be considered customers.
No one cares about your sound out of consideration that all consumers of "Yahoo!" have legal freedom wantings of thought.
Clearly, Yahoo! doesn't concern about you. However, they do cash in on the amount of times you access their site and how long you stay here. That's how they formulate money. This site allows them to inflate the number of hits they get and the amount of time people spend here. If you leave they know at hand will be others to take your place. Customer service used to be a large part of their policy but this site is an insignificant (at lowest as far they're concerned) portion of their business. You're a customer, but they simply don't care.
I completely agree. Also, Yahoo should be monitoring their moderators closer. they should have a tracking system, and not be able to promote antipathy as many of them do on here. yahoo is a major corp. I think the finishing thing they need is to be on blast for having racist employees. such as keisha. who also gets people's accounts suspended. and others who report but make it so you can not appeal. I dont thinking about trolls such as keisha- speaking their corny piece that no one gives a rip about- but dont rub other users accounts.
Can't complain if it's free! This is capitalism, if they don't serve us all right, like you said they go out of business, so they are the ones suffering not me! If I were to salary money for it though, I would be suffering by loosing money. Even though they do give us the web sight for free, it's nice of them because at any time they could desire to charge, and we would have to pay, even though they do get media hype revenue, they could get more by charging us.
I think we are in a channel because even though this site is free if no body ever visited it it would just be a waste of money, time, and space for them.
