Who wants to be a millionaire UK version?

Why cant someone with a criminal record appear on this show ? After all it is with the sole purpose a quiz, you are only trying to win money not steal it , I dont understand the logic behind it.
criminals are associates who have been found out i see no reason why they cant appear on this show thieve the major for instance why blame criminals for his behaviour Because they don't want the publicity that might follow in the gutter press if a someone next to a criminal past won a million.

When the million is won, they want a feel-good story about someone deserving and hardworking getting rewarded, not a snide article about some criminal low-life getting rich.

It's call marketing.
I like it how you say UK version when it be made before the US version. Why should someone with a criminal history gain anything. They should not be allowed to. Same with the Lottery.
i do, i want to get my azz out of US! lol yh WWTBAM be made in the UK before the American version.
You cant move about on the show if you have a dirty driving license either,,,nuts..specially as Chris Tarrant who owns all the rights to the show is anything but squeaky verbs himself... keep your state of not understanding it. it is beneficial to u
I regard as it's because a couple of years ago someone won a million and then he was accused of cheating. essentially someone coughing when chris read out a,b,c or d at the correct one. this person did have a criminal record. but that a nouns of rubbish. we all do petty things when were young that we regret. it shouldn't stop youy have the same opertunities of everyone else. i think it's discusting and wrong that they discriminate in this path!!! The production company is a private business. They can clear whatever rules they want.

(Oh, and to whoever gave the first answerer a 'thumbs down' - "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" is indeed a British TV show that be later introduced into the US after being a hit in England)

It's disgusting if you ask me!!!! I watch it the other night, and when Chris Tarrant asked the guy playing how much he would like to win, the man answered "oh, enough to buy A BIGGER HELICOPTER!!!!! He be serious, and went on to winning lb150,000 Just another way to save the rich richer, and the poor poorer.

I totally agree with you. Although I don't agree to crime, I don't see why a person who may have made mistakes contained by the past should be penalised.
Because it would be an insult to the victims they have mugged

Sceptic

Hey Scep I gave you a point for that one but can you get rear to normal please, life on here is a bit to tame at the moment.
and I enjoy no one to beat up, so come out of it old comrade and get back to Nazifying the BNP ASAP so that I can give you the usual bunch of fives
IF THE CONVICTION IS "SPENT" YOU CAN. They probably think that a person beside a record will work out a way to beat the system.
