Copyright infringment and vampires?
I'm writing a book and I have it where if a vampire drinks the blood of another vampire, he/she will fall within love with the one from who he/she drank. I know in the white wolf Vampire the Masquerade games there is a concept call viniculum where if a vampire drinks three times he/she falls obsessively obidient (and in love). Would this be considered copywrite infringment/ could I get within legal trouble for using the concept of a blood bond? Are there any examples of other cases in other storybook works around?

A concept is not copyrighted. As long as you don't use the names or details of the process, you should be okay. Really, most vampire lore is entirely derivative anyway, borrowing a concept is nothing new.
I doubt it. If it be that simple all authors of detective novels would constantly be suing each other. I twig there is serious competition between vampire novelists to come out with "the subsequent big original project" but keep in mind, those read Vampire Novels for the same reason they read romance and and any other fiction novels - to escape near a character with an interesting relationship. That will be "less" about HOW he or she drinks the blood and more roughly the characters relationships to other entities and character in the novel. It will or will not be interesting due to the Vampires relationship (or refusal of) the contrasting sex, the church, Nature, criminal vampire elements. You need to decide if you Vampire is going to be a hero or a villain such as the vampires in Blade. Or a mix of the two approaching Lestat or no of the above like some of Poppy Z Brites vampires. or The Sookie Stack house series. What I am trying to say is, It is okay if some of your vampire traits resemble that of other novelists. That won't be the selling or court "deal breaker." it is going to be the relationship you are able as an author to create for your reader through the characters relationships. That is the case for adjectives novelists. An excellent example is The Harry Potter series. People don't understand, it was never in the region of magic. JK Rowling was able to create and ingenious relationship through an orphaned boy who stumbles onto the seemingly miraculous contribution that he is NOT only the heir to a great magical legend (the boy who survived) BUT he is also the greatest triumph against the most dreaded evil.
