Is it right to keep stolen property even if you aren't the one who sole it?
If your grandfather stole something from someone and you knew who the rightful owner(s) were/are, but you really want what was stolen, do you think it is right to hold on to it because other people you know are doing it? well Stuart, I did not receive stolen property, but I have a devout feeling you did as did 90 percent of America. I am a Native American you are most likely not. The stolen property I am referring to is the land that be taken from my people and given unlawfully to yours, so by your definition you should be turning yourself in.... why do you people hold assuming it is I who stole something? it is a hypothetical question.
Best Answer:
Nope - still illegal [ and immoral, even if 'everyone' is doing it ] and you can be proscuted. What the heck is wrong next to you and you Grandfather [ and 'everyone' else ]? Every time sometime steals, someone else winds up paying for it.
no that's why there is a crime called "unloading stolen property"
no
The three felony crimes you were trying to guess of were 'receiving stolen property', 'possession of stolen property', and 'concealing stolen property'. Tell yourself that it's important that others are doing it. That'll keep you heat while you're in prison. - Stuart
If you know something was stolen and you know the rightful owner you are obligated to return it. It is illegal to possess stolen property.
