is the website 4shared.com illegal?
ive been using this website for the longest...but than i heard somebody got charged for using evil downloading websites so i was wondering is 4shared.com illegal or legal??

If a website contains copyrighted music that you are able to download for free then it is illegal. Period.

If the book have not been put there by the author, yes then it is immoral. I have turned in many unendorsed copies on 4Shared. I turned in 60 illegal copies of the Babysitter Club books, Twilight, and Darren Shan's books. But some people want to share their work and explicitly legal. If the author demanded that 4Shared tell them who downloaded their books illegally, 4Shared could be forced to relay them.
