Does anyone have any interesting facts about what police are and are not entitled to do with the public ?

Some police abuse there power, anybody have any uncommonly known knowledge about stuff like this ?
Maybe I should become a policeman then i can beat up people, go 80 at a 40 street, sleep in the job, arrest people cause i feel like it, and get out of jail early.




Actually I heard a story of a policeman arresting a woman for staring innapropiately at a police dog. Truly pathetic policeman.
I just know that they are generally not very nice.

Yeah lots of it from my youth!

Basically mate, if the fuzz stop you say nothing, you don't have to do or say or give anything to them, ID I mean. If they try to search you ask why.

If they try to nick you, ask then if they are arresting you & if so why. If they aren't walk away!

I could go on about this for a while, but keep this in mind...

Most coppers are thick! Well would you do that for a job? Also bear in mind that most coppers also will try to fit you up!

The Police can stop any Hackney Carriage (Private Taxi) and ask to be shown a bale of hey and bucket of water which the driver must carry at all times. This dates back to when Hackneys were horse drawn carriages and is still on statute.

every-time i have needed the police, they have been great and fair, all the best
one night my son call me to pick him up.when I got to him . He was surrounded with druggies. He had declined their offer to sell him drugs . I called the police after one of them broke the aerial off my car .when I told them it was my son , they said ho yeah! more like your boyfriend.I went on to say he was in the army ,the reply was ,a pongo hay! that`s when I lost respect for the police. I still don`t know what one is. maybe I should ask that q. That was 20 years ago.Glad to get it aired in public. thanks
Don't know what they are entitled to do but they certainly seem to think they can exactly as they like. Have been on the receiving end of this, arrested and held for 6 hours for something I did not do when they had no evidence and no reason to suspect that I had other than my being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Made a formal complaint and received a reply that said nothing, or at least it did say something but was worded in such a way even a lawyer friend could not understand it.
