Can a woman sue her boyfriends estate for loss of companionship?

Can a woman in a steady relationship with a guy sue his estate if he passes on for loss of companionship.
Best Answer:
I hope not. that would tight-fisted anyone who dates another person for a period of time would be financially responsible for a breaking up next to them! If that were to happen you would see a lot more relatives " accidentally falling down a flight of stairs " if you know what I mean.
She can try ..... Doesn't mean she'll succeed.
You can sue anyone for anything. A stupid lawsuit close to this is most likely going to be laughed out of court, but you can sue.
uh......how in God's name do you surmise you can sue a dead guy...for dying?
Of course you can sue...and hope you don't get sanctioned for bringing a frivolous lawsuit. You own no cause of action because the estate did not cause the boyfriend to die, and even if it did, you have no right to the companionship. It was just a benefit.
The answer to "can I sue?" is always yes. But you will lose this one. What's the claim, that he died negligently?
what is wrong with this country!!! another crazy lawsuit
You have no right to any of his money or possessions that were not brilliant to you or given by you for his expressed use only while he was alive and with you. In short, you hold no legal claim to most of his possessions and you cannot sue his estate because he died and left you alone. Now if you had a child next to him and you are being overlooked by his estate that is something entirely different.
Probably not. It's not close to you two were legally together. You'd have to be married to brand it legal.
