if I get into a fight and they press charges, is that a felony or misdemeanor?

Best Answer:
A felony would apply to death & injuries surrounded by the fight. It is usually just a misdemeanor. A citizen can press charges or make a 'citizen arrest' but they must prove that it be caused by your fault. You started the violence. Spartawo...
This really depends upon the specific law in your state, and what you actually did during the fight.
It depends on the situation, mostly how the fight started. If you just attacked a person in need provocation, you will almost certainly be charged with felony assault. On the other hand, if you be engaged in a verbal altercation within which the other person used violent or offensive terminology before you began to use physical force, then near is a good chance it would be a misdemeanor along the lines of altercation out of control.
It depends on the circumstances. Was anybody severely injured? Was there any property damage, and how severe? Were in attendance any weapons involved? If it was just a simple fist brawl then all it will be is a Classb misdemeanor assault: bodily injury.
It depends on how disappointingly you beat them up, and/or if you have been convicted of freestyle before.
