Giving Personal Information out online? Is it illegal?

A guy is emailing everyone related to my field of work giving out my name, address, phone number. email address etc etc saying i am a scammer. Saying i hold ripped off hundreds of people. Which is not true. I have not ripped sour anyone. This guy wanted a item. Paid $90 deposit and then never paid the other $100. He required me to ship first and then he promised to pay. I told him no. The deposit was non refundable since i spent the $90+ to kind the item for him. ANYWAY i made it clear it was non refundable. Now he is ruining my reputation. Giving my personal info away and i recently just found this out. After a friend forwarded me one of his ruthless emails. Basically giving out all my personal info. Address, phone numbers, house color, email address, etc etc along with my name, my parents label and everything else! I am only 16 years old. Isnt this illegal? I dont construe keeping a $90 deposit makes me a scammer. HE refused to pay shipping. ALSO, he have admitted to having people come by my house to "check" me out and see who i am etc. Yes I made it clear contained by the ad. I almost wrote it off as a jerk and be done next to it. But after i realized a decrease in business (This is my job) I found out this is why. THANK YOU EVERYONE. We made a nice trip to the Police Station today. They be surprised he was doing what he was doing. They called him up, explained that what i did be not scamming. They also let him know that he is wide open for lawsuits to be file against him. We have an appointment with a Attorney this afternoon. And guess who left 10 messages on the voicemail entreating for us not to file any lawsuits. I want to thank everyone who answered. THANK YOU!
Best Answer:
Tell your mom. This is slander of character and your mom can sue him and make him stop...and retract all his whereabouts. Trust me, what he is doing isn't good. You are a minor and he is setting you up for harassment or worse. Tell your parents now! Good luck!
Report this guy to the police. Lay charges against him.
You can sue him for liable. Also check with the prosecutor's office and see if it is stalking, since he is sending citizens by your house. It is also invasion of privacy. Talk to a lawyer. Most will give a free consultation.

you and your folks need to bid the law - right now. And no, with the facts as you detailed above, you are entitled to hold the $90.00. Hopefully somewhere in your seller's information you have language making it clear that deposits are non-refundable.
