Faulty camera? Where do I stand?
Brought a camera yesterday. Took some test pictures. left camera until next morning. Went to bring another picture, and when turned it on the screen had an internal crack in it. The camera's completely gone/not working.
Where do I stand surrounded by terms of a refund/getting my money back? The camera came near a year guarantee. I rang the shop, and they said the camera had been checked until that time leaving the store (which it had), and they would need to look into it.
If they do think it have been dropped, what happens? Will I not get a replacement/refund?
Please reply asap
how do you know there was an internal crack in it? did you drop it? a great deal of unknowns in your question.
It's very simple. If you just bought the camera then they own to replace it--you got 30 days to get a full refund and 1 year businessman warranty. If you ran out of these 2 options because you had the camera longer than that, consequently you have to pay for warranty. If the store is stalling you can tell them exactly what your rights are. I've have a similar problem before and raised such a stink with the director in front of other customers that he hurried up and gave me a store credit. That's the only article you can not do much about, if the store's policy says store credit then you enjoy to opt for that... The camera come with a one year guarantee againswt manufacturers defects and possibly regular wear and slash.
This will not cover a crack in the screen. The only method the screen will have cracked is due to an impact.
there is no mar in taking it back, however the you just bought it they own to refund you argument is unfortunately moot. You are privy to their terms of Dutch auction.
If it come with a year guarantee then they most likely "guarantee" it won't break underneath normal circumstances and work up to a year. But if you dropped it,or someone else did then I don't think it would cover that.Just give somebody a lift it to the store so they can look at it,I don't know their policies.
