I need help with finding an affordable discrimination lawyer, how do I find one?

I have a case going against a company, the suit is filed within federal court. My lawyer was helping me with the crust and we gave him a retainer amount and paid him by the hour, we were dealing next to the lawyer every day for close to five months now but our attorney has left to another city and he said I have to find another attorney. Can our advocate do this to us, can he just get up and leave a short time ago when he sent the summons to the company? I try contacting him many times but he is very hard to bring a hold of and now I am stuck on what exactly to do. I am trying to find a lawyer that deals next to discrimination but most lawyers wont take our armour, they charge to much and want atleast $10,000 in a retainer amount. That is over our budget, we were paying our previous lawyer a $1,000 retianer amount and $150 an hour because he said he be a solo lawyer. Now I am stuck on where to go, I don't know what the company plans to do but I hope they want to settle because they know they did wrong. What to do?
I'm not sure in the region of if it was ok for the lawyer to skip town or not, but if you need a advocate quickly check out http://www.findlaw.com/ -- you can probably find one that will work on a contingency fee (where you don't have to recompense him unless he wins).
