Can you get in trouble with the law if?
Well can you get in trouble with the decree if you admit to using drugs to someone then they call authorities even if no drugs are beside you? why I am asking is because I plan to repent to my priest, and I want to admit to using drugs and yes I know that there is an oath to secrecy contained by priesthood but just say he called authorities could I bring back in huge trouble?
Best Answer:
you are protected to tell your priest anything...he'll take it to the grave.
Not to worry, it could never happen. And with a priest you are risk-free, they are bound to keep that which is said in a confessional to themselves and God. Bless your heart for taking the right road. Be well.
No worries. First, he won't tell. But, even if he did, you can't get surrounded by trouble. It's crime to posses illegal substances, or be under the influence of them, but not a crime to have done them contained by the past. What someone else says you said is not evidence. (In court it's called "hearsay," and it's not admissible, unless you're motionless.) And what a priest says you said is doubly inadmissible, since they are not allowed to tell contained by the first place. (In court what you tell your clergy or your attorney is called "privileged" info.) BTW, your priest isn't even gonna blink twice at that one. He's heard bearing worse, I assure you. :)
