What would be the ethical/legal considerations of being able to purchase false memories?
Kyle - that's why I asked what *would* be the considerations :-) ....
Best Answer:
It would depend if the false memories were purchased to replace bad or no memories at all. If buying false memories would boost the quality of life, then I believe it would be ethically ok. But, if the trial memories were purchased to cover bad or simply unwanted memories, which could normally be deal with by therapuetic means, but aren't, then, I believe, it would be dishonourable to purchase false memories. As for legal implications... I think that would plummet on the one who inputs the new false memories into the brain of the receiver.
Me.
I'll counter it with this: What would be the ehtical/legal considerations of cast spells underwater? They make about as much sense as the other. There are no considerations for the impossible.
