What are my rights.....?


I have been suffering for the last 6 years near irritable bowel syndrome. I occasionally have to take time off from work due to my symptoms and It have now become an issue with my employer. I am and have other been receiving treatment from my doctor and I do my best to treat the condition through that and my diet but occasionally I do need to pinch a day off sick. My employer now requests me to attend a disciplinary due to being just over the amount of time you are able to hold off sick. In the past they have other recognised that I have a condition and do my best to look after it and that I do not take liberties where on earth it is concerned, but all of a sudden they require me to attend this and it could result in a written warning. Can they do this even though I hold a medical condition? Thank in advance I know this is a long question! Thanks. I live contained by the uk by the way.

Are you in a union? If not I'd bind one and they provide legal advice and support in situations merely like this.
It adjectives depends on where you live and the laws there.
Unfortunately, while I sympathise with your condition - your employer has the right to ask you to attend a disciplinary audible range. You will have been made aware when you first started of their limits for time past its sell-by date due to illness. Just because you made them aware of your problem at the outset - does not exempt you from being disciplined over excessive sick leave.
If you're in the UK, contact ACAS, they will be able to provide you the proper advice.

Yes they can do this. If you are missing too many days then they enjoy the right to give you a warning. You were hired to do a living and that job is still there even tho you are not. Your medical condition is not a factor as it is not a disability.

Unfortunately, they have the rights to make you attend to the audible range. IBS is one of the top ten reasons of job loss in the UK. Although you hold some rights that doesn't include extra time off.
