I'm not sure if you can take someone to court for stealing something that was illegal anyway. You're tongue tied within, probably shouldn't have stolen his laptop... EDIT: You know this counts as evidence?
It was stupid to have drugs within the house in the first place. There is no way out of it, you just enjoy to own up otherwise you look like a cold blooded thief OR a thief and a drug user. Take your pick. You will get into less trouble if you just own up to stealing the laptop for no object. Otherwise you will get charged with posession of a drug and stealing as opposed to simply stealing.
2 ounces does not equal 1 laptop, but a nice excuse
Aren't you precious - I bet your mother would be proud.
Of course you can not mention the weed for obvious reason. If you evn mentioned that he went into your house then it will look like you stole contained by retaliation.... which you did. So you would just hang yourself. That is because what he did and what you did and what he did are seperate things. All that matters is that you committed a crime. Are in attendance any witnesses to you taking the computer? If not the police will have no proof so you could deny it.
Andy are you nuts? You don't say a word, nil. Not hi or good bye. Get a lawyer to go near you.
Bloody hell, you sound like you deserve each other. Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Yes, taking someone's laptop out of their garage counts as burglary, regardless of whether the door be open or unlocked. It's trespassing too. Why do you keep a key contained by your garden anyway? Most people would keep it on a keyring. The best you can hope for is patching things up with your mate and getting him to agree you only just borrowed the laptop. That way, all you'd be charged with is wasting police time, and you might find off with just a caveat. Daft potheads, the pair of you.
if you are lucky they will class you as a juvenile, I imagine you are anyway.
someone steals an illegal substance from your house which you cant transmit the police about then in ur Madness of anger you stir into his house and steal legal items.... right there is no logic here.... he can report you for the legal items but you cant report him for what he stole out of your house... the rule is... hold on to your weed well hidden and don't go robbing peoples stuff for reason like this because you got nothing to stern you up with. Yes the guy who robbed you was a idiot but you did the wrong thing by robbing his stuff. Learn from this and screen you weed well.... don't leave a key outside your house and for god sake choose your friends wisely. GEEEZE
my mind
I think you should just share the truth that you were angry that he took you weed. That you were going to sell for a profit and afterwards buy some crack that you could turn over for a huge profit and then you could of bought some heroin that would of been worth A HECK OF A LOT more then the stinking nouns top.
oh dear! well you shouldn't have retaliated mete out now hes got something on you now. what he and you did be trespassing although you didn't break in its still burglary cause you took something that didn't belong to you and same for your so called friend. don't know what you would achieve. maybe a slap on the wrists and the weed confiscated and a record.
Just say he stole money from your house, they can't proove that he didn't.
