If i am injured on the job do I have the right to call out if I am in pain even if I was assigned light duty?

I was injured on the job a few weeks ago.I ended up beside a fractured rib which is causing a great deal of pain.I be giving 2 days off and put on modified duty.I am still in pain and i don't want to basis any conflict at work but I was wondering if it was okay to call out if im surrounded by pain.I'm afraid of losing my job b/c it seems my employer is not delighted with my situation.
How long is ""a few weeks ago.?"
If you're contained by the U.S., I may be able to answer your question. In any other country, I can't.

If your employer has at smallest 50 employees, they are subject to the Family and Medical Leave Act.

On Wikipedia:

On the Department of Labor web site:

Go to those links for more information.

If they don't have at tiniest 50 employees, they are not subject to the FMLA, but you may have some state law protection, depending on where on earth you live.

"Covered employers must grant an eligible employee up to a total of 12 workweeks of unpaid move out during any 12-month period for one or more of the following reasons:

for the birth and care of the newborn child of the hand;
for placement with the employee of a son or daughter for adoption or foster care;
to trouble for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) next to a serious health condition; or
to take medical leave when the hand is unable to work because of a serious health condition. "
No employer is happy when someone gets hurt on the undertaking. I suggest you call your doctor about the pain first and foremost. See what he/she suggests
If your employer is unhappy with your situation, the best thing you can do in a minute is work through the pain and resist calling in. If you don't, you risk losing your job. Harsh, but that's the realness. Your employer is afraid that 1) you will sue him for having an unsafe workplace etc. and 2) you will apply for workmen's comp. No wonder he is not a happy camper!!
In answer to your question - Who care what your employer thinks about you calling out in headache. You were injured ON THE JOB and no matter what they have the responsibility to comply near your physician orders as well as deal near the fact that you will not be 100% for a while. They cannot discriminate in any way shape or form. As you know, within is something called workers compensation which all companies are required to have for their workers.

If you can prove to your employer that you own a broken rib (have a doctor call into your work place).. then they have no choice but to permit you off for a while, and it's illegal to fire you for being injured.

Sorry to your employer.. grain better for you!
