How can he win his unemployment ?
My BF had a problem at work, he was advised by his coalition president to resign and to say he had sick family extremity. He resigned but now the uneployment handbook states you don't quailify for unempolyment for sick family beneficiary. My pay check doesn't cover all the bills!! Not even close. How can he get his dismissal ? Thank you for your help. we're new jersey residents

According to the New Jersey labor website, his voluntary resignation means that he will hold a difficult, if not impossible, time obtaining unemployment benefits. He must show "correct cause connected with work" for resigning and the standard is very elevated - he basically must prove that he had no choice other than to resign. I would not count on the job loss benefits as a way to pay the bills since it is unlikely he will be able to receive them.
