If a person pleads guilty by an alford plea(not admitting guilt) can that help or hurt them in the civil trial

NO, that is the whole reason you do an alford plea because then it can not be evidence in a civil trial.
Yes. If you were convicted whether by a jury or by plea then they will use that in the civil trial to help prove their case by a preponderance of the evidence.

If you got it dismised, they can still use the court transcripts in their trial. You can get the matter expunged but you have to wait three years usually and then they wouldn't be able to use it however I'm sure the civil matter will go to trial before then.
