How is it possible for a local judge to prevent the release of a film nation wide?

In 2001 a legal injunction was passed against the production and distribution of a film surrounded by the U.S. The injunction has been lifted in a minute, but how can it be possible for a local county judge to pass an injunction preventing the distribution of the film countrywide? Isn't it outside of his jurisdiction?
You are correct that a county judge cannot prevent the release of a film other than within the judge's jurisdiction (probably the state in which the Judge sits). But if the owner and issuer of the film is within the jurisdiction of the mediator, then the judge can prevent him/her from allowing the film to be produced and distributed. If the owner of the show is outside the jurisdiction, the judge could only control activities surrounded by that state. So it really depends on whether the owner is subject to the jurisdiction of that court.
Sure they can. Judges can't censor films. However, they can issue an injunction against a company from releasing a film if say another company was suing them over copyright as an example.
