I got a traffic ticket in TN and I lost my copy of the citation, who should I call to get my citation #?

Of course I've called the DMV for both TN and the state of my driver's license. No one knows anything!!! I was singular driving through the state so I was unaware of the city and county I got pulled over surrounded by. All I can tell you is I was on I-75 N. I don't understand why I can't only give someone my driver's license number and the citation pops up so I can pay it. The last entry I want to do is wait for it to get suspended in establish for me to get the number and price of the ticket. Has anyone else experienced something like this? What did you do?
Same thing happen to me driving through another state. It turns out that communication between all the different agencies in most states is awful until the actual court date.

Since it happened on the highway, start by contacting the TN State Police (or State Troopers, or Highway Patrol....anything they call it there). Tell them what stretch of highway you were on (or think you be on), and ask them for the specific stations/offices that cover that stretch. Call those offices, explain the situation and give them as much info as possible....date, time, etc.

I had to telephone three different stations until I found the one that issued by ticket....so be persistent.
You would have to know where on earth exactly you were when you got the ticket and call the Clerk of Court for that County or City and they would be capable of give you the information you seek. Also you should be able to move about online. Most States have their legal cases online and you can put in your designation and look it up like that. You would want the Clerk of Court it is usually General District Court/Traffic Division and that is how you can search for the information. Call the court for the nouns where the ticket was issued.
Since you were on an interstate highway the Tennessee Highway Police be the most likely agency to have issued the citation.

I would suggest that you contact them and ask them for a duplicate of the citation. If they cannot locate it, I would then ask if any other agencies issue citations on that box of the I-75 and how to contact these other agencies.

Usually you receive something in the mail informing you of the amount of bail (fine) for the ticket and how to handle it in need making a trip back to Tennessee to resolve the ticket.

If all of these measures fail to produce your citation, you may obligation to wait until your home state DMV contacts you. If they never do, you got a "free ride".
