taking deductions off an employees check without authorization what can be done?


my boss thinks one of our former employees took something without paying he later fired her and took the deduction from her payroll check without her authorization is that ok ?

as far as i know NOPE... your friend can go to the labor board and directory a complaint.. HOWEVER keep in mind the boss can then sue surrounded by civil court for court costs and cost of the item/items... depending on how vindictive the boss is it could cost your friend thousands to fight it...
