Is plea bargaining a violation of due process?

No. Plea bargaining benefits both parties, but it does not violate due process rights. The defendant is never forced into taking a plea bargain. In several instances they take it because it is the best they can realistically hope for. Even innocent people take them because they start wrongful conviction, BUT they don't have too. The system isn't perfect, but remember that when you enter a plea in court, the deem asks the defendant whether they are pleading guilty becaus they are guilty, and for no other reason. Some people say "yes" regardless, but if the party says "no", the judge won't accept the plea, because to do so would walk against public policy and everything that our criminal justice system stands for. Either way, the plea bargaining process benefits both sides (prosecution and defense) and for that, it is a honest thing.
That is a form of due process. No. Because by taking a plea bargain you are required to sign a form which basically states that you hand over up your Right to a trial by jury and other rights like due process.
