Should I have to pay a whole months rent if I move in on the 11th opposed to the 1st?

I am in college moving into an apartment. I signed the lease for 375 a month which is fine but they want me to move in on the 11th and no sooner for cleaning. Cleaning is fine but why am I being charged a adjectives month including those first 10 days. That equals about 120 dollars!!!! Am i wrong or should they pro rate this? The rent is due on the 1st of every month and no its not stated in the lease but it also doesn's say anything roughly getting shorted 10 days of my 1 year lease.

An apartment community would pro-rate it. If it's some tremble preying on the college kids, they'll probably try to stick you with the whole month, I'm not sure what the legality is. Either course, the right thing to do is to pro-rate the rent, good luck.
im moving into an apartment onthe 20th. i gotta pay for 1/3 months rent.
No,you shouldn't pay a full month. It should be prorated. I believe the law is on your side contained by this matter. Look it up and more power to you.
Two things. First, is the rent due on the first or the tenth? Second, didn't you read the lease before you signed it? Does it say aloud they'll prorate the rent if you wait until the 11th?
You need to tell them that you will not pay the full months rent, as you are not sufficiently expert to move in by their choice till the 11th. Yes, they need to pro rate it and you will pay $255 the first month. You own to be a bit assertive, or they will walk all over you.
J.B is right, and on a side note, if they are all in place tryin' to screw you over, protect your self by the following things: 1)Lottsa pix of EVERYTHING, even the t.p. holder in the bathroom, before you move in.Use your/someones digital camera so the date is on the pix. 2) Any communication surrounded by writing, especially if you need things fixed. These will help you prove/prevent any fraud from their end.
