Is it against the law to be a vigilante?

Best Answer:
Yes. Vigilantes are considered, ironically, dangerous criminals.
Yes.
a "vigilante" by definitaion takes the statute into his own hands. Of course. What if everyone did that?
the dictionary says so. natural imperative , maybe. why. you want to be. whats the matter?
yes,the feds will try to mess up your life, but it is not to protest contained by other ways.Go to a group like ACORN with your issues,or a talk show hoast approaching Alex Jones in Austin infowars.com or The Prison Planet witie to congress and news editors.
yes, i concur with the given answers , haha! :-)
It actually depends on what you mean by "vigilante." Obviously it is against the law to dangle cattle rustlers and bank robbers nowadays. However, if by "vigilante" you mean following a drunk driver while you phone the police on your cell phone, that's not against the law, as long as you use a hands-free device of some kind.
1.One who takes or advocate the taking of law enforcement into ones own hands is a vigilante. So yes that is against the tenet. Eve
I don't think there are laws that specifically accord with vigilantes, but many of the acts a vigilante would do to a "criminal" would be unfair. If you go out and hang a child molester for being a child molester, you would be charged near murder. There is also the issue of what would you do if you found out later the person was innocent? In court, the prosecution give evidence, the defense gets to rebut the evidence, and a jury of 12 people get to want if the person is guilty or not. It's not a perfect system, and some guilty people get hold of to go free and a small handful of innocent people go to prison, but it is a great deal better than just one person being decide, jury, and executioner.
it is against the law to be a vigilante, but when the directive fail us, people get the urge to apply they own decree, I do not think is right to go out and pop somebody's brain just because we reckon is right, what if the target is innocent? there is a process that we must abide by. leave it to our justice system.
