Faulty baby toy?
my daughter was brought a fisher price hop n pop for christmas as she was too young to use it later she has only been using it for three months if that. today a slice ( the green rattle) broke off and she put the long stalk of it in her mouth. luckily i was near her and managed to get it off her since she was able to do herself any damage. i'm in recent times wondering what my rights are as i feel this item is faulty as it has scarcely been used and parts of toys intended for babies shouldn't come off in their hand. any help would be greatly appereciated.
This isn't a matter of what your rights are but rather whether or not you should contact Fisher-Price and tell them what happen.
Your child, thankfully, was not injured due to your diligence. However, the manufacturer should know roughly what happened so another child won't be harmed.
Contact Fisher-Price immediately.
A broken toy can usually be returned to the store for a replacement or a discount.
It is your right as a parent to not by a toy like that for your child if you feel it is dangerous. It is your right to not buy toys that are not all right made.
Make sure your baby is the proper age/weight for this product. At least 6 months old, no more than 25 lbs. Luckily you be doing exactly what most kids toys say in small print on the box, young children require parental supervision at adjectives times!
Take it to your trading standards, they will look into for you
It was probably already recall, you can get yourself signed up for recalls on toys, and other products as well. Call the business company and get a refund or replacement. Call Trading Standards as they might have it on their blacklist but if you run it back they should refund.
you can ring mattel or email them about this. Mattel is the company who deal next to problems with fisher price products the email address is HELPLINEUK(a)Mattel.com
or the phone number 01628 500303.
I rang them today about a broken tumble time tigger and they replaced it.
