Abortion vs killing a pregnant woman?
when someone kills a pregnant woman, it's considered a double homicide, right? so how can abortion be legal?

I don't understand this either. Unless the abortion is for medical reasons, I don't see how the ruling could see it as OK. If other people can be charged with killing your babe, then you should be able to be liable as well. This is not really something like "pro-life" vs. "pro-choice" - just consistency in legislation. Nice costume!
Because americans are hypocrites and double standard why is it that if you commit armed robbery and you are a minor you only get five years within jail didn't you point a gun in someones face and create them get on the ground just like a big boy!! Grrrr...sorry only a little bitter... have a good sunshine! :)
It's also Illegal for me to shoot a woman in the foot. But if she wants to go to the doctor and hold her foot amputated it's perfectly legal
I love you for asking that question. I estimate that it also depends how far along the baby is in development. (I think) (its a bearing out for the liberals).
Because it's her right to choose, not some random idiot with a gun.
It is NOT considered a double homicide in adjectives jurisdictions. For example, in MY state (NC) it is NOT. Also, in the jurisdiction where it MAY be considered double homicide, there are usually restrictions on how far along the pregnancy was, thus affecting the likelihood of the fetus outside the mother.
Well, it comes down to a dirty little secret you enjoy stumbled upon. The law isn't about what is right. The law isn't something like what is moral. The law isn't about what is logical. The law is what you can bring 51 Senators, 218 Representatives, the President, and/or 5 Supreme Court Justices to say it is. Nothing more and nothing less. The United States Government is set up to offer people the laws and the government they ask for...zilch more and nothing less. This means lots of compromises are made. It also money that the laws are no more moral or logical than the people themselves are. If enough American Voters want the imperative a certian way, that is how it is going to turn out, logic, morality, reason have nothing to do with it. This is why you had slavery, and the Fugitive Slave Laws http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugitive_Slave_Law_of_1850, Jim Crow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Crow_laws, Plessy v. Ferguson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plessy_v._Ferguson Dred Scott http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dred_Scot The Trail of Tears http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_Tears and other such abomination throughout American History. So while your argument is both logical and moral...the law, unfortunately, is neither. It is political, nothing more, and zilch less.
Double standards! The lawmakers and courts don't consider a fetus to be a living person so it is OK for a woman to have an abortion. If the woman is murdered, then the fetus suddenly is a living being deprived of its right to vivacity. It is funny that when a woman has a miscarriage they don't consider it an abortion even though it is a natural abortion. Kind of like the politicians varying the meaning of the constitution to justify their passing of unconstitutional law.
