A question about arbitration....?

if a case goes to an arbitrator, do the lawyers for respectively side actually present the case to the arbitrator or does the arbitrator just read the travel case files and make a ruling? do I as the plaintiff have to be present? would I want to be?
thanks
Hello Arlene. You didnt mention the type of luggage involved, but just for general information:

In arbitration, each side have agreed to use a third party to hear a dispute. Each side (which means that as the plaintiff, you would have to be there) presents facts and data to the arbitrator and that person will make a ruling (decision). This can be binding or nonbinding, depending on what was preferred from the start.

If this is nonbinding, it can be appealed and then go to a mediator. Same key rules but that decision would be final.

If either party does not show up for arbitration, that deputation would then lose by default.

I hope this helps and you can find it adjectives
