Is a sword considered a legal weapon which must be registered to have in the U.S?
I know that fire arms must be registered to buy and they must also be re-registered every year or so to make sure you haven't done anything illegal with it (like unathorizingly selling it). But does indistinguishable thing apply to a real swords? I'm planning on buying an actual kartana, 2 to be exact, on ebay pretty soon and I'm just wondering if I enjoy to register it and then re-register it every so often I understand that their isn't a countrywide law requiring registration of fire arms because that does violate the 10th amendment, but basically every state in the U.S have certain registration requirements for ownership of certain arms that are considered extremely dangerous. And some states also require you to re-open registration for these fire arm(s) every so regularly. Though I already got the answer that I was looking for which appears to be: no, I don't have to register a sword, especially if it's purely hanging on my wall. I just mentioned the above part to clarify my ask a bit since I wasn't very accurate in describing the gun regulations which was consequently misinterperated a bit. sorry my fault :) Any way, I'd like to thank everyone who answered and resembling usual, whenever I get more than one correct answer I will give the 10 points to the person who give the best answer.

Contrary to popular belief (and with good opinion to past actions) the federal government does not have the authority to regulate any type of arms within the sovereign States that make up the United States. It is up to the States. And although the federal government has given themselves the power to regulate arms, this contrived power is within violation of the 10th amendment. With that said, as far as I know, no State requires you to register a sword.
All blades exceeding 4 inches is considered a deadly weapon and must be registered.
Contrary to your belief, there is no general nationwide requirement to register or re-register adjectives firearms. No state requires registration of swords.
No you do not have to register a sword... You use it to hurt/kill or scare someone it is later classed as a Deadly Weapon and you will go to jail for a long, long time...
There may be laws pertaining to it, ask your local police department. If you're just buying it to droop on your wall you may not have to, but they'd know for sure.
You don't need any kind of paperwork to own a sword. You purely can't wear or carry one in public, unless it's kept in a out of harm`s way container where it's not readily accessible. Swords are legally regulated as knives, and thus they inevitably violate the gouge length laws in every state.
