we all know the work of a lawyer. so I have a question which will be discussed in a debate in church.?
As christians anything that we do contrary to the will of God is a sin. A lawyer's work is to defend people who have been involved in crime e.g Killing, stealing and many more. Viewing all this in a christian perspective, this is breaking God's commands.Do you think a lawyer is on a right side or is offending God?
In American law, we are innocent until proven guilty. Everyone should get a fair chance to be proven guilt or innocence in a court of law.
God will be the righteous judge in the end.
The lawyer is only making sure that the accused gets a fair trial and/or punsihment. Unless the lawyer is lying or promoting other people to lie, then he is just doing his job.
Lawyers defend people who have been ACCUSED of a crime. No-body knows if the defendant is guilty, or innocent, until the jury decides.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but did no-one ever tell you that Santa and the Easter bunny do not exist? Well, you can add God to that list too.
Good Question. You're thinking. It's interesting that in the Biblical (Jewish) System of law, the court was to do everything possible to prove the defendant innocent. It's a very fascinating process. You should look it up sometime.
Well, a lawyer is also an advocate.
This is what Jesus does for us, right? He defends us to the Father by making intercession for us...pleading our case.
I think you might be reading into it a little too much.
If a lawyer is honest & righteous, they'll try to defend the righteous. Not everyone who is accused is guilty.
