The guy who slashed the horse with a meat cleaver?, should people like this go to prison?
Im sure most people from the uk have heard give or take a few it, makes me sick! is 5months in a detention centre ample for this sicko?...im sure he will be out before then, should there be longer sentances for inhabitants who commit animal cruelty like this?
They should make him volunteer for peta after he serves his sentence as a form of community service. A month or two next to those nutjobs is sure to get him to think twice before hurting a poor unshielded animal. pity he does not get bit of his own medicine while in detention prepare him a lesson might think twice bout doing it again and the sick people like him!!!
I think their punishment should be comparable to that of offenses against humans.

Yes!! i agree sickos like that deseve prison problem is we gotta pay for it the cost of keeping these people within prison is astronomical
i think any crime against animals should yeild the equivelant punishment if a similar crime were committed on a human. animals have state of mind too, they cry, they experience joy, sickness, and other types of feelings. animal creulty is horrible, i dont see how someone could even imagine to hurt another living "entry." i find it absolutely repulsive. 5 months? Might as well slap his hands and report to him not to do it again.
And in reply to the earlier answer, yes animals are killed for food, but they are not hack about with a meat cleaver for the sake of it.
To be fair, he did work contained by an abattoir.
Indeed they should move about to prison and for a lot longer than 5 months!
It's high time the Government clamped down on all act of violence and increased penalties to such an extent that would-be offenders really do assume twice before committing such acts of barbarism.
I definitely think he should progress to prison for a long time. Animal cruelty usually leads to human cruelty....sick in the mind. more so than quarterback michale vice. but neither compare to oj. vick was sent to prison for allow his cohorts to operate a dog warfare kennel from his property out of town.
vick should have been fined and suffered some damage but he be a scapegoat. oj was cheered by some for getting off. i love horses so i get kinda sick thinking around the meat cleaver used on a horse. but i don't know what is appropriate for such a terrible thing. there be a famous depressing play called "equis" that had the sick main character blinding a horse. i never watched it. i thought that was totally a bleak idea for a play. could have made the point some other way.

Well, there are some people who still drink meat, and that takes a lot of animal cruelty but it's sanctioned by the state.

Yes he should go down for several years and be fined a hulking sum of money.Sentences for animal cruelty need to get much tougher or it will never stop. watch..horse slaughter houses..on you tube and you will see HUNDREDS of horses have their throats slashed every day!!
