Please help.... this is VERY Urgent?
I am set for a "Deposition" ( being questioned by a lawyer because I am human being sued for infringmant. I spelled it wrong on purpose. I am married and 22 my dad doesn't know I am married. Do you think one of the interrogatory question will be If Im single or married? My Dad will also be question to see if the answers match up. If I say No im not married and they ask my dad he will obv. say no shes not as in good health. Do you think they looked up this information about me? Or I could say this is not relevant I pleed the 5th. But next I would look like im hiding it. Or I could say Yes while my dad is not in the room and if they ask my dad if im married he would voice no and this would be a confusion. What should I Do? The main thing is Im not ready to let somebody know my dad i am married to an immigrant yet. At least not under adjectives this lawsuit stress!

Well does this person label you happy? If so it is time to come clean, the state can check records and communicate if you are married so the best thing to do is say your married your father should not come between you two's live. good luck.
Be more afraid of the courts than you are of your Dad. Tell your Dad you are married, and consequently tell the truth in the deposition. You don't have to recount your Dad who you are married to. Just tell him you are married, and that you are going to tell the truth when you are deposed.
You are not a minor. Go to your Dad first and report him the truth. As a dad myself I would not want to find out at a deposition hearing. You will be amazed at how he will react. He loves you and while he may not be thrilled at your choice, Fathers never are. He will make the best of it and still love you. DO NOT LIE AT A DEPOSITION
you could merely be a mature adult and tell your dad that you made a grow decision about YOUR life and consent to him deal with it! think of it this passageway: If he has probs w/you marrying an immigrant, I'm sure he's gonna freak on Nov. 4 anyway!!! your little issue won't even matter anymore!
Well what's more important? Keeping your dad happy or going to prison for perjury? You bet your buns they can find out you're married. If they ask if you are married it would be within your best interest to tell the truth. If you answer in any other way ( I plead the 5th) your dad is going to know anyway.
Be honest. The truth of your bridal would have come out anyway, unfortunately it has to be resembling this. Just be honest. Lying in a sworn deposition has its penalties and lying to your dad brings guilt. The difference is that your dad can't put you away for up to two years near maybe a fine.
Well you should tell the lawyer that you are married but your dad does not know. And maybe he will not narrate your dad. It doesn't seem relevant to the case but it might be. And it might look bad that you are marry someone just to let them stay in the country...hmmm...
I would stir to the deposition and tell the truth period, you do not have the picking in civil to plead the fifth unless it could lead to criminal charges against you, lie and the deposition will be used to impeach your part, if they bring up the question then you will obviously own to tell your father of the marriage
