No. Animals own no rights under the laws of the United States. Animals are considered chattel which can be bought, sold, bred, killed, eat, etc without any consideration to the animal's opinion about the business. Having said that, there are laws which make abiding conduct regarding animals illegal. These laws are not base on the "rights" of the animal, however. Instead, they are based on a public interest in the well self of animals. In essence, humans have the right to have this public interest protected. The animals themselves do not.
Obviously they do, or Michael Vick would not have gone to prison and the Animal Control police would not exist and/or issue fines and citations. While they are living beings and do have "rights"... .they are not the same rights extended to human beings. I resembling animals, but am concerned over the mental health of people who talk going on for animals as if they are humans.

Yes, animals, like humans, do hold their own rights and basically number one is the right to live and because of that, we humans MUST RESPECT them letting them live in this world!got it!!!
There are laws protecting animals against animal cruelty. Besides physical abuse, that include poor living conditions, hunger, malnutrition and other forms of casualness. Even if the animal is slaughtered for food, law forbids to do it in a "cruel" way.
