is that common if the employer ask the candidate for their bank details?


I m in UK now. The job agency permit me register my personal information, and need my bank details (sort code, account number), will this be a fraud or something?

In other words, if you are employed by someone to work for them, it's okay to permit them have your bank details, because they will be paying your salary into your mound.
