How do you split money you get from reffering someone?
At my workplace you get $200.00 for referring somone , if they get hired and stay for atleast 6 months.I referred my friend 6months ago and of course I own gotten my $200 for referring him.I have been with the company for 6years and am surrounded by good standing with the company and workmates so ofcourse my loyalty played a big role in getting my friend hired.
Now my friend insists that I hold to give him $150.00 and I keep $50.00 of the referral and I dispute this.
What in your view is the ethical thing to do here?
Personally I don't think I have to afford him anything coz then if that was the case the company would not hold given me the whole 200 in the first place.Out of a good heart though I be going to give him 50.00 until he started insisting on getting 150 or $100.00.
What would you do.Or how would you handle this
I think the lone way the referral money should be split is if you made an arrangement before getting them the job. If you said, "hey, if you find hired and stay for 6 months I get a $200.00 bonus and I'll split it with you". If not, the money is to be an incentive for employees within good standing to refer people that they know to work for their company. Your friends bonus is they have a duty and receive a paycheck.
You offerred to give him $50 out of the goodness of your heart. If that is not flawless enough tell him to ---- himself.
