Are immigration laws the same in all states?
We know a guy who got into some problems here in texas and was unqualified to fix his immigration status...then someone advised him to go to Cali bcz it be easier there....i thought it was the same surrounded by all states??
Best Answer:
The immigration laws are federal statutes, so they ARE the same throughout the US. There should, so, be no difference at all from one state to another. However, some US Attorneys are more aggressive than others.
Yes, immigration laws are federal and apply whatever state he is surrounded by. Enforcement is more stringent in some states.
He probably just blends in better in cali.
The difference between states, is if the local authorities help the feds by reporting Illegals. There is no law that requires them to do it. Some a short time ago do.
There's no state immigration laws. But states do have different policies on how strictly immigration is enforced, and what illegals can receive from state governments.
