when does the father have to stop paying child support in washington state?
As far as im concerned, its whichever comes first, graduation from highschool, or when they become a legal adult. Is this right? where could i find more information?
Best Answer:
At the age of 18.
Whatever the court sets it at.
I'm not sure, but my friend's dad evaded paying it for 16 years. He was found out and faced a double law suit (US supreme court and my friend's mom). He have to pay the mom $1.4 million, and the same amount to the gov't, which my friend will receive in full as soon as he turns 18.
yes or when somebody esle decide to adopt the child
Usually it is when they conquer 18. Not High School graduation. And many if not most will make that 23 if the child is attending college.
